Make a QR code for a Google Form
Create a short FormURL link for your form, then download its QR code as a PNG. People scan it with their phone’s camera and land on your form. Because the code holds a short link rather than the long Google Forms address, it stays simple to scan, and once you’re signed in you can change which form it opens without reprinting it.
Make the QR code
- 01
Create a short link
Paste your Google Form’s link into FormURL and choose the words, like open-day.
- 02
Open its QR code
Use the QR button next to your new link, or the link’s Share tab once you’re signed in. Pick the code’s colours to match your poster or slides.
- 03
Download it
Download the QR code as a PNG, or copy the image and paste it into your slides or document.
Tips for posters and slides
- Keep strong contrast: a dark code on a light background scans most reliably.
- Print it large enough to scan from where people will stand, and leave a clear margin around it.
- Print the short link under the code, like formurl.com/to/open-day, for anyone who can’t scan.
- Scan the printed proof with a phone before you print the full run.
Change the form, keep the code
Once you’re signed in, you can point a link at a different form. The QR code holds the short link, so posters already on the wall open the new form. Changing the words of the link, on the other hand, breaks the old link and every code that holds it.
Questions
Does the QR code expire?
No. The code holds your FormURL link, so it works for as long as the link exists.
Can I see how many people scanned it?
With a free account you can see how many people opened the link. A scan counts as a visit; FormURL doesn’t tell scans and clicks apart.
Is it free?
Yes. Links and their QR codes are free, and your first link needs no account.
